Letter: Maxwell has capability and background | Opinion
Election Day will soon be upon us and if you have not voted early I would ask that you seriously consider voting for John Maxwell for Scott County Supervisor.
John is the owner and operator of Cinnamon Ridge, a dairy farm in Donahue. He has successfully operated the farm for over 30 years and he is a fifth generation Scott County family member. John has hosted tours of visitors to John Deere for many years and, having toured the farm when I was serving as a supervisor, I can attest to the fact that it is a highlight of any visit to our community.
John has significant government and board experience because he has served on the North Scott School Board for seven years, soe of those years as chairman. He has been faced with difficult decisions like cutting $1 million from the budget, expanding the trades for curriculum and nurturing the FFA. And, most importantly, he has been instrumental as a board member assuring the students are college- and career-ready.
Most important for me is, I know John will work hard to continue to keep taxes low; maintain a balanced budget , assure fiscal responsibility and work hard to increase job development and creation.

I served 12 years as a Scott County supervisor (2004-2016), and I am confident John Maxwell as the capability, background and desire to serve well the citizens of Scott County.
